Total Loss 24.4

Another 2.2 loss, so I'm at 220.8. Kinda disappointing. Yeah, I did have the little cheating day last Friday, but the total cheat was less than 100 calories, so that made 710 calories for that day, at most. The other 6 days were 600 + 5 or 10 for 1 or 2 boullions.

  1. Good job on the 2.2! Why are you only drinking 3 shakes? Are they just too disgusting? I know it doesn't make sense, but you might lose more by increasing your calories. That's happened to me before.

The Y realized their scale was wrong and provided a new one for us, so at yesterday's weigh-in I was up 5 lbs from last week.

  2. That's really crummy, Kate - the whole first 2 weeks of Lose Big are really wasted, for everyone. So how much have you REALLY lost?

They said at the introduction to New Direction that you won't necessarily lose faster on 3 than 4, but I didn't believe them. I could get in 4, but if I have to drink something, there are far more delicious and cheaper drinks, such as Diet 7-Up and decaf coffee that I'd rather drink. If I believed I would lose faster drinking 4 than 3, I would, though. 4 costs $100/week and 3 costs $75/week. If I only lose 2.0 per week, it'll take 40 weeks to lose 80 pounds (instead of the 25-29 predicted), and that's an awfully long time to be on liquids, with your only reward being getting into the overweight category instead of very obese. Actually, my problem is probably lack of exercise, not drinking only 3 beverages a day.

  3. I'd like a little insight into how do you feel, besides the expensive, bad-tasting drinks and disappointing numbers. You told me the getting in and out of the car for Meals on Wheels delivery seemed better because of the weight lost at that point. Do you have other evidence along those lines to focus on? When you take the dogs to the park, can you walk around while you're there? What other ways would be relatively easy to add some exercise?

Rooting for you!! And thank you again for sacrificing those additional calories for Mrs. Poorbelly's class!!! I saw that little Rose at Next Gen yesterday and she came up to me to say that it was the best party she had ever been to!

  4. From the Beez:

I'm very impressed that you were able to eat a small amount of candy and then stop. Once I slip up, I'm off the wagon. It's way easier to eat no candy than a small bit. I'm still visualizing the four of us sisters painlessly walking aorund Peoria Wildlife Park!

    From me:

The 2.2 is crummy. It's good, actually. Really good. But crummy of that sleazy place to promise you 3 pounds a week and not deliver. I concur with my sister: up your beverages each day and see how that works for you. I also think I little exercise would be good. When it gets bearable outside, that'll be easier for you.
