Despite copious cheating, I lost 2.2 (my most common loss number by far) and am now at 209.6. I told the nurse about my cheating and her response was if it's hard for me not to eat now I should move on to program where you eat and drink beverage. But she's not forcing me, so I'm very happy to know that I can cheat and get away with it!
Bad news yesterday when I went to my regular doctor (the one who gives me my prescriptions). They measured me and I was 5'3"! Oh, no, I've been 5'4" all my life! Now I'm the shortest sister and the fattest sister! Plus that inch probably represents a good 8 to 10 pounds on the weight chart.

Just think of those cheats as your gradual transitioning back into normal eating. Each bite is tasting very good. Maybe you can maintain that perspective and be satisfied with less. In any case, you're going to have better odds with losing weight than gaining height, so keep at it! We're all rooting for you!
ReplyDeleteAmen Chris!!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you! My friend Mickey, who is also letting me know her progress on Tuesdays, said they were talking about how much the size of plates have changed over the years. We increase our portions to keep up with that size - and "size UP" we do!
Thanks, Chris - I really liked that about my odds.
ReplyDeleteI might also have mentioned that besides shortest and fattest, I'm the oldest. Guess my odds on changing that aren't too good, either.
Yeah, Katrina - I had the same lesson yesterday. The dietitian intern showed the size of plates 20 years ago versus now, and the size of hamburgers and other food servings from 20 years ago.
As long as you're giving them the money for the beverage, they shouldn't care too much whether you do a little "cheating." I'm glad they were nice about it.
