Total loss 39.6
Yesterday I posted a 1.6 loss, and now weigh 205.6. I have my monthly dr. appt. on Thursday, so possibly I'll reach 40.0 then. I got a good talking-to by Linda, the nurse who 2 weeks ago seemed to be saying that my cheating was OK and they would not force me to switch to Outlook (the 1250 or 1300 diet that includes 2 shakes plus food). Apparently, she took my sheepish admission to cheating to mean that I was repentent and would be getting back to shakes only. So, now I have to give up my daily treats. I had just found out how great Kroger Private Selection mesquite turkey is: 4 ounces has 100 calories, 0 fat, 0 carbs, 22 grams protein. I still had 8 ounces at home, so I ate that last night. Yum! Today it'll be nothing but 2 chocolate with fibers and 1 pudding, plus all the coffee, tea, and diet Kroger lemon-lime I can drink. I've got Pepsi 0 at home, too. So, we'll see.

Well for Pete sake. That Linda. The difference between 1.6 with feeling happier about life and 2.2 and being miserable seems to weigh on the side of cheating to me.
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of you for sticking with it! There will be plenty of time for mesquite turkey once you start the maintenance phase, I guess.
Go, Carol!
Thanks, Chris! I don't blame Linda - it's just their policy. For one reason because of the slippery slope that could lead to carb ingestion or at least too much protein ingestion. Plus she didn't seem totally convinced that what I was eating wouldn't throw me out of ketosis. I'm gonna ask Dr. Miller about that tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteYou're not kidding I will be eating mesquite turkey on maintenance - what a great deal with a great taste. I'll certainly give up the canned chicken - it's not that great. Plain tuna is not great either, but I'll be eating that with light Miracle Whip. And those delicious Oscar Meyer light hot dogs. I can't wait! But I've got a long time to wait.
