  1. Yay, Carol! 27.8% of the way done!

You wanna hear a ridiculous weight loss story? At the YMCA Lose Big weigh-in Friday, some girl was reported as losing 10.2 pounds in a week. And my very own sister weighed in at a 9 pound loss herself. We told them no way: our aunt was doing a very restrictive 600-840 calorie a day plan and loses 2-3 a week. Resolution: I think they replaced their faulty scale. That'll make for some shaky results in the end.

  2. Well, if you ever watch the Biggest Loser, a 10-pound weekly weight loss is definitely doable. You have to do more than just restricting your calories, though. You have to exercise which I'm not doing, but should be. Kate Handy puts in a significant amount of exercise - although in this case I know you're right and the scale was faulty.

  3. Your comment was way longer than your original post, CC. We want more!

On The Biggest Loser, I think they exercise like 8 hours a day, or something really extreme. I didn't do any more exercise than I usually do, but I did eat significantly less. I think I lost around 5. It's always easier to lose a lot the first week, but they say it's mostly water.

  4. Slow and steady wins the race, Carol. You should put more into your posts, though, so your support team has a little something to react to. I'm just sayin'...

Go, Carol! Go, Carol!! Ggggggggggooooooooo, Carol!!

  5. Have they given you exercise suggestions yet, or are they still saving that up for some other time? I wish you were closer and we could go to the gym together. You used to go to the DISC pretty regularly.

I think if you found a low-impact, maybe senior-oriented, aerobics class to commit to a couple times a week, you would make friends and expand your support group. (That Deecatur YMCA is really hardcore though. They were way too fit for me at that class I crashed once. Nothing like the low-key Spfld one.)

  6. Hi Carol!
I wanted to catch up with you this week and see how things are going. I noticed a difference and you really look great in your face and shoulders area! Let me know what they say about exercising.
